In CUNYfirst, open Student Center, then Course Planning & Enrollment. Check Enrollment Dates for your window, clear any holds, add classes to your cart, and submit when registration opens.

Students in good standing may take up to 18 credits in fall or spring, 4 in winter, and 15 combined across summer sessions. Probationary students are limited to 13 credits. An overload above 18 credits requires Academic Advising Center approval.

12 or more credits in a semester is full-time; fewer than 12 is part-time. A 15-credit pace helps students reach 30 credits per year and graduate in four years.

Use CUNYfirst during the Change of Program period. After it closes, dropping becomes a formal withdrawal and a W may appear. Consult the current Academic Calendar before acting.

An ePermit lets a QC student take an equivalent course at another CUNY college. In CUNYfirst, open Course Planning & Enrollment, choose ePermit, fetch equivalent CUNY courses, select a host school, and apply. You must be in good standing and have no holds.

Submit the Non-CUNY Permit Form before enrolling at the other school. Send it to the QC Hub or epermit@qc.cuny.edu during registration. Retroactive permits are not granted.

CUNYfirst Student Center shows holds and the responsible office. Your schedule is under Course Planning & Enrollment, then My Class Schedule. Resolve holds before enrollment.

If a full course offers a waitlist, select Waitlist in CUNYfirst; you may be auto-enrolled if a seat opens. Global Class Search lets you compare sections across CUNY for ePermit planning.

The guide lists in-state full-time tuition at $3,465 per semester, in-state part-time tuition at $305 per credit, and out-of-state/international tuition at $620 per credit, plus mandatory fees. Verify current rates with the Bursar.

Complete the FAFSA at StudentAid.gov using Queens College federal school code 002690. Apply early, then monitor CUNYfirst for your award and outstanding tasks. Financial Aid is in Jefferson Hall, 718-997-5100.

TAP is a New York State tuition grant. It generally requires New York residency and full-time enrollment. Apply through HESC after FAFSA and verify current income and award rules directly with HESC.

In CUNYfirst, go to Student Center, Finances, then Make a Payment. E-check is generally fee-free. Add bank information under Finances for direct-deposit refunds; otherwise a paper check is mailed.

Excelsior may cover remaining CUNY tuition for eligible New York residents after other grants. It requires full-time study, annual credit progress, and post-graduation New York commitments. Check HESC for current rules.

Yes. Options include Macaulay Honors College awards, QC Foundation scholarships, departmental awards, and external opportunities. Start with the Financial Aid scholarship page and your academic department.

Dropping below 12 credits can reduce TAP, Excelsior, and Pell eligibility. Speak with Financial Aid before dropping so you understand the effect on current aid and future progress.

The guide summarizes SAP as a 2.0 cumulative GPA, completion of at least 67% of attempted credits, and finishing within 150% of the degree length. Falling short may lead to warning or aid suspension; appeals require documentation.

P/NC changes a passing grade to P and a failing grade to NC, without GPA impact. The guide limits it to one course per semester and 21 credits total, with exclusions including major/minor, Pathways, ENGL 110, MATH 110, CESL, and Writing Intensive courses. The choice is final after the deadline.

W is a withdrawal with no GPA impact. WF and WU are treated like failing grades. NC is a no-credit result in a P/NC course and has no GPA impact. Formally withdraw by the published deadline to avoid unintended consequences.

During the standard withdrawal period, drop through CUNYfirst. After it closes, petition the Undergraduate Scholastic Standards Committee in Virginia Frese Hall 201 with a statement and supporting documentation.

An instructor may grant INC when most coursework is complete but a documented emergency prevents finishing. Contact the instructor directly. The guide says unresolved INC grades convert to F after one calendar year.

GPA equals total quality points divided by GPA credits. A/A+ = 4.0, A- = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, B = 3.0, B- = 2.7, C+ = 2.3, C = 2.0, C- = 1.7, D+ = 1.3, D = 1.0, and F = 0. W, P, NC, and INC do not affect GPA; WF and WU do.

A cumulative GPA below 2.0 can trigger probation, a 13-credit cap, and required advising. Visit the Academic Advising Center in Kiely 217 to make a recovery plan.

Students returning after at least five consecutive years may be eligible for Academic Renewal affecting up to 16 credits of D/F work. CUNY grade forgiveness may replace a lower grade for up to two repeated courses. Confirm eligibility with an advisor.

The guide lists Dean's List as at least 12 credits with a 3.5+ semester GPA and no incompletes. Graduation honors: cum laude 3.50-3.69, magna 3.70-3.89, and summa 3.90+. Verify against the current catalog.

At least 30 of the 120 degree credits must be completed at Queens College, including at least 15 credits in the major. Transfer work cannot satisfy this residency requirement.

QC generally awards credit for AP scores of 3 or higher, with course equivalencies set by the relevant department. Check the current Admissions equivalency list or call 718-997-5600.

Use QC Navigate to book Academic Advising, or ask about walk-in hours at the AAC in Kiely 217. SEEK, ACE, Veterans, and Honors students have dedicated advising options.

Pathways includes a four-course Required Core, a six-course Flexible Core across five areas, and the QC College Option. QC also requires two Writing Intensive courses. Your exact plan depends on entry and transfer status, so review DegreeWorks with an advisor.

View posted credits in CUNYfirst under Academic Records. Official transcripts go to Admissions for final evaluation. The guide lists a maximum of 75 transfer credits and generally requires C- or better for non-CUNY coursework.

For a major, complete the declaration/change form with a faculty advisor signature and submit it to AAC or the Registrar. For a minor, get the offering department's approval and submit the signed form to the Registrar.

DegreeWorks is the CUNYfirst degree audit showing Pathways, College Core, major, and elective progress. Use it with advising; report courses that appear in the wrong requirement area.

Apply for graduation in CUNYfirst under Enrollment and check the Academic Calendar for deadlines. Request official transcripts under Academic Records; unofficial transcripts are available there at no charge.

Submit a photo through the QC QCard page, wait for approval, and pick up the card in I-Building 200 with photo ID. Deactivate a lost card immediately in the QCard account, report theft to Public Safety, and visit the office for a replacement.

Student parking is generally allocated by lottery. The guide lists $295 annually and $148 for spring or summer, but application dates and prices can change. Check Public Safety before applying.

The Queens College Learning Commons in Kiely Hall offers free peer tutoring, workshops, bootcamps, and recitations across many subjects, in person and online. CUNY students may also have Tutor.com access.

QCLC tutors cover mathematics including calculus and statistics, and the Math Department maintains a help room. QCLC and the Writing Center offer online appointments; Tutor.com provides on-demand support through CUNY.

The Rosenthal Library Makerspace offers 3D printers, laser and vinyl cutters, sewing machines, and electronics equipment. It is free for QC students and staff can help beginners. Check current open hours online.

The Counseling Center in Kiely 218 offers free individual counseling, groups, and crisis intervention. Call 718-997-5420. For an immediate after-hours emergency call Public Safety at 718-997-4444 or the 988 Lifeline.

The Career Development and Internship Center is in Kiely 229A, 718-997-5770, career@qc.cuny.edu. It offers resume reviews, mock interviews, job and internship support, fairs, and graduate-school guidance. Book through Navigate.

Federal Work-Study roles are posted through Handshake and CDIC; you need an FWS award to qualify. College Assistant jobs are open more broadly and may appear in CUNYfirst or department postings.

QC has more than 100 registered organizations. Visit Student Activities in Student Union 303 or attend the semester Club Fair to explore academic, cultural, social, and professional groups.

The Student Union houses Student Government, clubs, Student Activities, dining, a bookstore, meeting rooms, and lounges. The QC Hub for enrollment services is nearby in Dining Hall 128.

QC and CUNY offer summer, semester, and year-long programs in many countries. Review deadlines and whether your aid applies with Study Abroad and Financial Aid before committing.

The Office of Veterans Affairs is in Kiely 123, 718-997-5876. It provides VA-benefit counseling, priority registration, advising, peer support, and access to the Vet Center lounge.

Q-Pantry in the Student Union provides free non-perishable food and hygiene items confidentially, without documentation. CUNY Basic Needs can also help with emergency resources and SNAP applications.
